This
is a day conference spent with your fiancé/fiancée and a team
from the church to provide you with information to assist you on
your marriage journey. The
team consists of couples in the church who are actively
practicing their faith and have a desire to help future couples
grow strong in their marriage.
Since you, as a couple, are seeking marriage in the
Catholic Church, you are saying, in a sense, that you believe in
the teachings of the Catholic Church and will uphold them.
As
an engaged couple, your routine for the day is to hear personal
stories (stories of struggles, frustrations, heartaches,
mistakes, failures, triumphs, and happiness) from presenting
couples. You will
then receive a worksheet to guide you and your fiancé/fiancée
as you spend time discussing your own personal relationship.
Sometimes there are topics that you have never discussed
or broached, and the team makes sure to open the door on the
most critical areas, namely, those that seem to cause the
highest number of divorces today.
