We
believe that ministry to our sick and shut-in makes a difference
as it creates a bondedness with our total faith community.
It is an "extension" of our weekly celebration.
Eucharistic Ministers to the Sick and Shut-in share Holy
Communion with those unable to attend our community liturgy, and
includes those who are homebound, at Magruder Hospital, and
residents of Edgewood Manor and Riverview Nursing Homes.
As a Minister of Holy Communion, training is provided according
to diocesan guidelines. When ministering to the sick,
additional training is provided by the ministry leaders.
Participating in an actual visit is recommended. We
welcome those who want to be a part of a ministry that makes a
difference!
